Our Racetrack Team

Tim
Clinic Director / Doctor of Physical Therapy
Tim was born and raised in Santa Barbara, California. He started working for his father in construction at age 14, and continued this through high school and all of college working mostly on school breaks and the summers. He began his path to physical therapy coaching his High School baseball team (Go Dons!) after graduating.
Finding a passion for working with athletes recovering from injury and focusing on the strength and conditioning elements of the sport while attending Santa Barbara City College earning his AA in Kinesiology. He graduated Cum Laude from California State University, Northridge (Go Matadors!) with his Bachelors in Kinesiology (emphasis in Exercise Science) and furthered his education at Western University of Health Sciences (Go… they don’t have a mascot), earning his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. He started his career in rural Arizona treating an underserved community in hospital based outpatient therapy. In that time he had the opportunity to learn the McKenzie Method and began course work through the American Academy of Manipulative Therapy achieving his Certification in Dry Needling and is progressing through his Certification in Spinal Manipulation. He moved to Henderson in October of 2022 to be closer to his fiancee, Lauren, he joined the Optimal Team at that time serving in the Pahrump and Horizon Ridge offices before settling into his home office at Durango. Tim is a strong proponent of strengthening and joint mobility finding that most of his patients are lacking one or both. He has a fundamental belief that everyone should be strong enough to accomplish what they want and need to do in a day and age should not be a reason to stop what you love. He loves working with athletes of any age and the weekend warrior. He utilizes his experience working in the trades to understand each patient’s physical demands and tailor interventions to meet this. He prides himself in pushing his patients and takes an ambitious approach to exercise to speed your recovery along. He describes himself as a “shoulder nerd” and loves diving into the intricacies of that joint to provide the best rehab possible. He is an active gym goer, he and Lauren enjoy camping, the outdoors and travel. He is a fan of most sports, anything with a V8 and has spent 2 years building an off-road adventure truck out of a K5 Blazer. Lauren is trying to make a golfer out of him but he is desperately clinging to his baseball swing.
